Historic windows can be made energy-efficient and leak-resistant, usually by upgrading with insulated glass and other high-performance glass options as well as weatherstripping options.

Additionally, there are many secondary glazing (storm window) options available that are specifically designed for use with historic windows, matching the sightlines and frame profile dimensions. These upgrades are more cost-effective than replacing historic windows.

Don’t assume your historic window needs to be replaced just because it is leaking.
